Clean Unable 46, Brother All in one Printer

Our all in one printer, Brother MFC-240C had a problem and for some reason it stop working. Every time I turn on the printer it shows on the LCD “Clean Unable 46″ error message. What the LCD suggests is to read the User’s Guide for further troubleshooting. That didn’t help me at all because it stated in the guide, probable causes are ;

1. The machine has a mechanical problem and/or

2. A foreign objects such as paper clip or ripped paper is in the machine.

Their solution is to “Open the scanner cover and remove any foreign objects inside the machine. If the error message continues, disconnect the machine from the power for several minutes and then reconnect it.” I followed the instructions and did a total clean over. I used q-tips, glass cleaner, cloth to remove the dust that could be interfering for the printer to work, apparently to no avail it still ain’t working.

I googled it and finally I found the answer to my problem. All you need to do is to reset the purge counter. These steps worked in MFC620CN/420CN/410CN/210C/240C and FAX2440C model.

To reset purge counter

1) Enter machine maintenance mode (on MFC240C all four photo/copy/fax/scan lights flash in maintenance mode). Care is needed in maintenance mode, otherwise critical settings may be inadvertently corrupted.

FAX models with numerical keypads: Press the Menu/Set, *, 2, 8, 6 and 4 keys within two seconds. (if you fail to complete the correct key sequence within two seconds, press the Stop key to try again).

Other (non-FAX) models: Press the Menu/Set and Black Start keys. Next press the “up arrow” key four times to enter the maintenance mode).

2) Press the 8 then 0 keys in the initial stage of the maintenance mode to call up the machine’s log information list (function code 80).

3) Press the Black Start key several times to scroll through the log information list to reach the purge counter. The purge counter is the 25th item in the list.

4) Press the 2, 7, 8, and 3 keys in this order to reset the purge count to zero.

5) Press the Stop/Exit key to return to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.

6) Press the 9 key twice to return to the standby state.

Q: How to use Acer eRecovery

A: Note: These steps will return the system to the original factory installation including all factory installed drivers and applications. Back up all data prior to using this procedure.

1. Plug in the AC adapter and battery.

2. Turn the system on

3. Immediately, press ALT on the keyboard and start tapping F10. Continue holding ALT and tapping F10 as the unit boots up.

4. A screen stating "Starting Acer Erecovery" should appear. (Release ALT and stop tapping F10 at this point)

5. There will be 4 options:
1. Restore system to factory default
2. Restore system from user backup
3. Restore system from cd/dvd
4. Exit Restore system to factory default
1. Enter the password created when eRecovery was first started.
2. Read the on-screen warning and choose Yes.
3. Click Next. The recovery process will start. When recovery is complete the system will re-start and will need to complete the setup of Windows. When setup is complete a process will clean up the recovery files.

Please be patient as this process can take 5-10 minutes or longer.

Restore system from user backup

1. If you have created a user backup, this option will be available.

2. Select the backup file you wish to restore

3. Follow the prompts When recovery is complete the system will re-start and will need to complete the setup of Windows. When setup is complete a process will clean up the recovery files.

Please be patient as this process can take 5-10 minutes or longer.

Restore system from cd/dvd

1. If recovery cd/dvd's were created, they can be used to restore the system.

2. Insert disc 1 and follow the prompts. When recovery is complete the system will re-start and will need to complete the setup of Windows. When setup is complete a process will clean up the recovery files.

Sekatan yang dilakukan SKMM dibidas oleh Pirate Bay...

Laman web perkongsian fail terkemuka Pirate Bay (TPB) menyuarakan perasaan tidak senangnya terhadap sekatan internet Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM).

"Kami sedih apabila Malaysia melampaui hak asasi manusia sekali lagi," kata wakil laman itu Winston Bay kepada Malaysiakini.

Beliau menegaskan kembali tentang penetapan Persatuan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) bahawa internet merupakan sebahagian hak asasi manusia.

Bagaimanapun, tambahnya, dalam masa yang sama Malaysia menutup akses terhadapnya.

Bay juga berhujah, TPB sebagai "pertukaran budaya paling besar dalam sejarah manusia" dan tidak dapat dihentikan oleh "kerajaan yang korup" dan "ketololannya".

"Orang ramai sudah tentu mampu menggunakan TPB walau apa pun caranya, seperti di negara lain yang tidak menyekatnya, trafik akhirnya tetap meningkat.

"Ia menunjukkan bahawa tidak ada tolak ansur dengan kerajaan yang korup dan internet mampu mengelakkan ketololan itu," kata Bay.

SKMM semalam menjelaskan menyekat beberapa laman sesawang akhir-akhir ini bukan satu bentuk penapisan, sebaliknya tindakan pematuhan undang-undang Malaysia.

Kenyataan itu menyebut, SKMM menerima permintaan daripada Bahagian Penguatkuasaan, Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Koperasi dan Kepenggunaan untuk menghalang capaian kepada beberapa laman yang didapati melanggar Akta Hakcipta 1987.

Semua kaki download tengah bengang sekarang nie kan, ~~termasuk aku.~~ Namum begitu ini bukanlah penamat segalanya, semangat pejuangan harmoni mesti di teruskan hingga ke titisan terakhir. 1. Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections

2. Pilih wireless bagi yang guna Wireless Network Connection. Kalau pakai kabel pilih Local Area Connection. dan untuk pengguna Broadband sila pilih seperti contoh untuk maxis pilih Maxis 3G-NEW.

3.right klik > properties.

4. Dan selepas itu klik Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

5. Lepas tu klik atau tick "use the following DNS server addresses:"

6. Sekarang masukan dekat "Preffered DNS server: 8.8.8.8"

7 Dan untuk dibawahnya "Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4"

8. Dah selesai semua step klik OK....

Selamat mencuba semoga berjaya, setakat nie laman piratebay.org dan duckload.com masih xlepas menggunakan cara ini. kepada sesiapa yang ada cara lain boleh la share dengan aku.

TuneUp Utilities Sucks? Why...?

TuneUp Utilities sucks. Do not use this software. Many of my customers comment on the software, which damage the PC / laptop they are. It makes the PC / laptop they are slow and there could not connect to the internet or WiFi.

There are among those trying to get rid of this software but the problem still not solved. There also can be solved only by using system restore, but there also had to reformat the PC / laptop.

Compaq presario C770TU XP Driver

Compaq presario C770TU laptop comes with 1.73 GHz Intel Pentium dual core processor T2370, 1 MB L2 Cache, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100,160 GB (5400 rpm) HDD, 15.4” WXGA High Definition BrightView Widescreen and so on. Note: Please copy the entire link starting from "ftp" to "exe" and paste it in the address bar of the browser in your computer and press enter.

1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp36090 folder and the double click the V32 folder. Select the .inf file, click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

Similarly install Modem Drivers:

Conexant CX20548 Modem Driver for Microsoft Windows XP

Repeat Bubbles
In recitation mode you have the ability to:

Move to the next Surah when recitation ends for a surah
Repeat the same Surah
Repeat each Ayah from 1 to Infinity times before moving to the next (very helpful for those who wish to memorize a surah)

Bookmarks
Don't want to lose the last verse you were reading? Or would like to place a marker for later reading? Use the Bookmarks feature to manage those favourite ayahs (verses). To add/delete a bookmark, simply tap and hold your finger on any ayah for one second.

Bookmark Notes (Coming Soon)
Read an ayah and would like to make notes? With the Bookmark Note feature, you will always be able to capture your thoughts, observations or simply add comments whereever and whenever you wish. This will be a Pro feature only.

Audio Bookmark (Coming Soon)
The bookmark view has a special bookmark at the top of the screen called an Audio Bookmark. This will remind you of the last ayah that was played back in a particular surah. This way you never forget which Surah/Ayah was playing when you stopped or closed iQuran.

Easy Scrolling
With the all-in-one display, read the Quran while you scroll from ayah to ayah with a single drag. If a translation is selected, this will be displayed right after the corresponding Arabic text.

Verse Jumping
Although scrolling is good, it can become tiresome where the chapter is long or when you want to go to a particular ayah directly. Use the side bar and swipe your finger from top to bottom, and vice versa, to go to a verse quickly. This technique has been named Fast Scrolling

Quick Ayah Scrolling (Coming Soon)
In non-recital mode, tapping once on the ayah column (the fast scroll column) will scroll and make the next ayah visible.
Surah storage management (Coming Soon)
Audio data for Surahs can become very big and with little space left on your device, at times you may wish to keep the actual Quranic Text but not the audio for a particular surah or by a particular reciter. iQuran allows you to delete individual reciters, or surah audio by individual reciters, keeping in tact the actual text. One may even wish to remove all translations and only keep the arabic text.
